The former Primavera Coach was promoted from the youth team when Claudio Ranieri was axed on Monday evening.
“I think the most important thing is that Inter won. The fact it came in such a spectacular manner will please President Moratti, as he did ask us to entertain him!” smiled the 36-year-old.
“I saw an attacking and positive Inter that were able to express the qualities of its individuals. I really liked the first half performance, apart from conceding that late goal that restored Genoa’s confidence.
“It was a victory of the whole group, as everyone gave their contribution, from the starting XI to the substitutes.”
There are still nerves, as the Nerazzurri were 3-0 up after 38 minutes, but eventually scraped the 5-4 thriller with both teams reduced to 10 men.
“Can I now play without the pressure of a result? I don’t think that’s possible in Serie A! We are not drawing up any expectations or targets, but must take it one game at a time.
“I don’t think Diego Forlan played out of position, as he has great quality and has often played in that wider role. By talking to him, I realised he wants to give a great deal to this team.
“The midfield has elements of real quality, as Dejan Stankovic gave us tempo, but was struggling after the break, so I introduced Fredy Guarin and Joel Obi who could help us during a difficult moment of the game.”
Stramaccioni was asked whether he expected to stay at Inter for a long time or remain as caretaker until the end of the season.
“The President has given me an amazing opportunity despite the fact I’ve never worked in Serie A. He handed the team to me and I will do what I can with these great champions. I do not think about the future, but only the next game.”
