SPAL President Walter Mattioli has denied rumours they’ll sack Coach Leonardo Semplici. “He has the faith of the club.”
The tactician was believed to be at risk even after taking SPAL to their first promotion into Serie A since the 1960s.

SPAL President Walter Mattioli has denied rumours they’ll sack Coach Leonardo Semplici. “He has the faith of the club.”
The tactician was believed to be at risk even after taking SPAL to their first promotion into Serie A since the 1960s.
“Seeing as I keep reading a lot of rubbish, I want to make something clear,” said Mattioli at a charity event.
“Our Coach has the faith of the club. I can’t stand it with people calling me up every day to ask about the situation. I ask you to avoid writing rubbish and try to take things seriously.
“Semplici is the Coach of SPAL and he will continue to be as long as the club decides. I don’t understand this scrambling to find out what he’s doing and how the club feels about it.
“I want to save SPAL, no matter what it costs, and pay close attention to everything that happens at my club. Semplici has our confidence and he is still the SPAL Coach.”
