Fiorentina boss Paulo Sousa did not make any excuses after the Viola were beaten by Torino.
Goals by Iago Falque and Marco Benassi put Sinisa Mihajlovic’s team two up before Khouma Babacar’s header gave the Florence side hope of a comeback. However, the match finished 2-1.
“I was not afraid of approaching the match wrongly. The League is different and I think we approached the game well,” Sousa said when asked about the difference between playing in Serie A and the Europa League.

“Certain situations can make the difference, especially the first goal. We didn’t know how to address the situation and get the equaliser.
“With our changes, we knew we would concede space to our opponents’ counter attacks.”
The Portuguese Coach was then asked for his views on Falque’s controversial opener, when he appeared to control with his arm in the build up to the goal.
“The referee made his decision. I said it last year, we all make mistakes.
“I was angry because the linesman was there close to it. We are not looking for excuses and we will continue to work.
“We had a strong and organised team in front of us. We know what our reality is and we want to improve both on an individual and team level.
“I want to play an offensive game, not a defensive one, organised in high blocks to win the ball and have possession.”
