Patron Della Valle arrived at the training ground this morning for talks with the Coach.

“Once again we manifested the desire to continue working together with Fiorentina,” said Sousa in his Press conference.

“I am very happy to continue working together. Next week President Mario Cognini will take the situation in hand and lay out the plans for what this team needs.

“I give everything for this club, these players and this team. That means working together.”

Fiorentina were even Scudetto contenders for the first half of the campaign, but are now stuck in fifth place.

“If a club wants me, it knows what style of football I play. I have worked in many leagues and they have all enriched me on a professional and human level.

“I am focused on improving myself and my players. To improve we need alternatives and it will take time to work on other structures to trouble our opponents.

“It is a necessary step to make us more unpredictable next season.”

Tomorrow is Fiorentina’s final home game of the campaign, but Palermo have won two in a row and are desperate to avoid relegation.

“There is the risk they’ll be more motivated. We can have an off day in technical terms, but the attitude must always be the same in every match.”

Manuel Pasqual is likely to have his final home appearance in a Viola jersey after 11 years at the club.

“Pasqual is a good man and a great professional, so he has a good chance of playing tomorrow.”
