Paulo Sousa warned there will be no squad rotation or taking the Europa League for granted as Fiorentina take on PAOK.
The opener kicks off in Salonika tomorrow at 20.05 UK time (19.05 GMT).
“I always expect a lot from my team and we still have considerable margin for improvement. Game by game we will improve the collective and intellectual level of the squad,” said Sousa in a Press conference.
“We always study the opposition, but remain above all concentrated on our own play and dynamics. Our concentration is aimed more towards us than the other team.
“This year, considering the many players who arrived at the end of the summer, I think we need more consistency to reach peak performance. At this moment we need consistency and that means very little rotation.”
However, striker Khouma Babacar could get a run-out after being snubbed so far this season.
“We are seeing in recent weeks a new attitude to work that we’d never seen in him before, as well as better communication with his teammates. He could have a chance tomorrow and in following games.
“We will certainly pin more importance on the Europa League tomorrow than looking ahead to Serie A.”
This is a return to Greece for Sousa, who was a player for Panathinaikos in 2000-01.
“It is always a pleasure for me to be back in Greece. I have always been treated well here and I thank the fans for their enthusiasm. Tomorrow we’ll get a glimpse of it with the home crowd.”
