There are reports that Sampdoria could offer Fiorentina Roberto Soriano or Ervin Zukanovic to avoid paying Vincenzo Montella’s release clause.
The former Viola boss is believed to have agreed terms to replace Walter Zenga as Coach of the Marassi outfit, but he is still tied to his former employer.
The Della Valle family, who own Fiorentina, inserted a buyout clause of €5m into Montella’s contract which must be met by the Blucerchiati if they are to sign the Coach.
La Nazione have reported today that Della Valles will not consider a discount, but could be open to the idea of a player exchange instead of cash.
The names of Italy international Soriano and summer arrival Zukanovic have been suggested as possible players who could be exchanged in order to release Montella.
The newspaper believes that Paulo Sousa’s side would prefer Soriano, who Milan are also reportedly interested in, but Eder would be their first choice.
However, it appears unlikely that the forward would be part of such a move, given that his valuation exceeds the €5m of Montella’s clause.
