Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said Manchester United ‘focus on Atalanta’ after the ‘wake-up call’ at Leicester City. ‘We have great desire and determination’.
The Red Devils host Atalanta after a 4-2 defeat to Leicester City in the Premier League last weekend and Solskjaer said he has seen a ‘reaction’ from his players.
“We are not so happy at the moment, but we have great desire and determination,” Solskjaer said at a press conference. “I saw the reaction of the players, conceding four against Leicester was a wake-up call.
“Now we focus on Atalanta,” he continued. “A different team, a different competition. There are many things that didn’t go well, we have tried to improve.
“We need to know what we are doing well but eliminate the mistakes.”
Former Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo has scored twice in the Champions League with United this term and is expected to start against Atalanta on Wednesday.
The 36-year-old has scored three times in six games against La Dea, but has only been on the winning side once against the Bergamaschi, when Juventus won the Coppa Italia Final last term.
“Cristiano is a champion, we know what he can do,” Solskjaer said.
Atalanta arrive in Manchester after a draw against Villarreal and a win over Young Boys in the group stage, leading Group F with four points.
