Genoa are doubtful that they will be able to sign Evander Sno after reviewing the results of his medical.

The port club were apparently ready to offer the free agent a three-year contract at the Stadio Ferraris.

"Unfortunately, it is not positive news about his medical," President Enrico Preziosi noted to Radio Kiss Kiss.

"There are rules in Italy that won't allow him to play, while he could do in Holland with his problems.

"There are a few issues with the first set of results and therefore it is probable that we won't be able to register him."

It was believed the 24-year-old was ready to retire when he suffered a heart attack during a game with the Ajax reserve side in September 2010.

However, Sno recovered quickly and made his comeback in a friendly just two months later, having been given an internal cardiac defibrillator as a precautionary measure.

The midfielder has played for NAC Breda, Celtic, Bristol City and Ajax during his career.
