Former Sampdoria target Wesley Sneijder has officially terminated his Galatasaray contract and is now heading for MLS.
The 33-year-old Dutch international had joined from Inter in January 2013.
He gave up the €4.5m per year salary, although will receive a €1.7m golden handshake.
The termination includes a clause whereby he’ll have to pay Galatasaray €20m if he signs for another Turkish club over the next three years.
Sneijder had been in negotiations with Sampdoria, but they failed to agree terms.
