Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae is edging closer to joining Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and according to Florian Plettenberg, via Sky Sport Germany, the Bavarians are keen to have a deal wrapped up within the next few days.
The South Korea international, who joined Napoli from Fenerbahce last summer, is available to teams outside Italy thanks to a release clause set at around €60m, and despite strong interest from the Premier League, most notably from Manchester United, he looks increasingly set to sign for Bayern.
According to Wednesday evening’s update, the German heavyweights have offered Kim a contract which will run until the summer of 2028, and could be set to earn somewhere in the region of €10m-€12m gross per season.
Interestingly, Plettenberg and Sky also report that Kim’s contract with Bayern will once more feature a release clause, thought, again, to be in the region of €50m.
In preparation for his expected departure, Napoli are themselves on the hunt for a new centre-back this summer, with the club and new coach Rudi Garcia said to be keen on Austria international Kevin Danso from RC Lens.
