Diego Simeone has reportedly dealt Inter a blow by insisting the revising-down of his Atletico Madrid contract “doesn’t mean anything”.
Simeone has made no secret of his desire to coach Inter one day after a successful spell with the Nerazzurri as a player in the 1990s, and news that his Atleti contract was cut by two years to 2018 on Friday prompted speculation of his wish being closer than ever to coming true.

However, speaking at a Press conference, he clarified that while “the revision of my contract is true, for me it doesn’t change anything”.
“We’re fine and I’m happy where I am. It hasn’t stirred anything because within two years we may still renew. I always want more.”
