Palermo have ruled out Italian clubs in the chase to sign Javier Pastore. "They can't afford his transfer fee."

The Argentine is valued at over €50m by Rosanero chief Maurizio Zamparini who seems ready to sell.

Although a number of top Serie A sides are interested, the Stadio Barbera outfit believe the player is more likely to head abroad.

"Pastore is a champion and has many offers," Vice-President Guglielmo Miccichè told Radio Sportiva.

"It is now necessary to find a club who are capable of matching his fee. If that doesn't happen then we will happily keep him.

"I believe that foreign clubs are in pole position for him because they have greater economical possibilities.

"It would be hard for any Italian club to pay what we are asking for.

"I think the €50m to €60m that Zamparini is after is the right valuation for a player like Pastore."
