The Lega Serie A has opted not to play matches over the Christmas period next season.
It had been suggested that Serie A could emulate the English Premier League, which famously plays a full fixture list on Boxing Day, December 26.
However, at a meeting today the Consiglio di Lega has decided to retain the winter break, meaning there will be no matches over Christmas and New Year next season.

Despite this, the Supercoppa Italiana between Juventus and Milan is expected to be played in December, with the United Arab Emirates the most likely host, ahead of Canada, Australia and China.
