The 2016-17 Serie A season will begin on August 21 and end on May 28 with the Italian Super Cup overseas in December or January.
Today the Lega Serie A held a meeting, in which they refused to suspend the Winter break, but decided there will be “one or two games during the holidays from 2017-18.”
Lega President Maurizio Beretta announced that instead the Christmas period will be used for the Italian Super Cup, which we already know will be between Juventus and Milan.

“It will presumably be between December and January in a date still to be decided, based on the opportunities on the international market that arise.
“The idea is to find a venue abroad and there are already some displays of interest we will evaluate over the next few weeks with the direct involvement of the two clubs.
“In 2016-17 there will be three midweek rounds that will all be in the early stage of the campaign, the last on December 22, to allow players to leave for their Christmas holidays.”
Specifically the midweek rounds are on September 21, October 26 and December 22.
The campaign begins on August 21 2016 and is due to conclude on May 28 2017.
