Calciomercato.com calculated that Sassuolo are the surprising high-flyers, raking in €18m from shirt sponsors Mapei, who also have stadium naming rights.

However, there are also some question marks over this, as Mapei are owned by the club patron Giorgio Squinzi and it has been called a way of circumnavigating financial investment limits.

Behind them are Napoli and Milan together on €15m, with Roma finally getting a shirt sponsor in Qatar Airways and Hyundai after many years without a deal.

Inter are only sixth in the list with €10.6m and are believed to be working on new revenue.

After these six, it’s a massive drop-off and the other 14 Serie A clubs put together have only €24.7m coming in from shirt sponsors.
