Likely to be squeezed out by the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid and possibly also Jackson Martinez from Porto, Calaiò is expected to leave the San Paolo this summer.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Calaiò is wanted by Sassuolo, who are making their Serie A debut this season.
