Empoli Coach Maurizio Sarri felt “satisfaction and regret” following a 0-0 draw and accused Torino of being “scared.”
The Tuscans extended their unbeaten run, while the Granata are now without a Serie A victory in six rounds.
“We didn’t think that we had become a scary team,” Sarri told Sky Sport Italia.
“It’s true Torino came here during a difficult moment, but they chose not to play football, to just waste time and act scared. Their whole attitude throughout was of a side that wanted to take away one point.
“When they behave like that, they are a difficult team to break down. We still did well, as in these games you can risk getting hasty and leaving yourself open.
“There is satisfaction at the performance, but regret that we only got one point after dominating. We’ve dominated the last three, really, so we know that we have limitations.
“Empoli are scraping around for every point to secure safety, which for us would be like the Champions League.”
