Empoli boss Maurizio Sarri has admitted that his side will be up against it when they face Roma after the international break.

The newly-promoted side face the capital club in 10 days’ time, and the Coach has conceded that the Giallorossi can be considered one of the favourites to lift the Scudetto come next May.

“Roma is going to be a tough game,” he told reporters. “But we can’t think about that.

“We have to go there and have the nerve to try and get a result. It’s going to be difficult because we’re on a different planet to them.

“But we have to go on to the pitch focusing on our own performance, thinking that we deserve to be playing in Serie A.

“We’re a technical team and we have more than enough quality to stay in Serie A. Of course, there is a limit to our progress, but I believe we’re good enough to stay in this division.”
