Talks between Napoli and Maurizio Sarri over a contract extension have reportedly broken down.

According to Calciomercato.com, Sarri’s salary is not the issue but rather Napoli’s reluctance to pay in the region of €100m for a proven full-back and winger.

The website explains the Coach wants the players to have ‘experience of international competitions’, but President Aurelio De Laurentiis would prefer to take the club forward with ‘young’ faces.

CM adds Sarri is also unhappy with Napoli’s handling of Pepe Reina as he would have liked to keep the goalkeeper, who is expected to join Milan this summer.

The 59-year-old has been linked with several sides, including Chelsea, Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain.
