Maurizio Sarri has suggested that Chelsea are 'working very hard' on a deal to sign Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain.
Chelsea are thought to be on the verge of agreeing a loan deal with Juventus for Higuain, who played his best football under Sarri at Napoli and only played the second half of Milan’s Supercoppa defeat on Wednesday.
When asked at a Press conference about how close his club were to the Argentine, he replied: “I don’t know.

“I want to be clear, I spoke to Marina [Granovskaia] two weeks ago, she knows my opinion and then I decided to be focused on the pitch and training.
“I know that Marina is working very hard, but I know nothing about the market. I don’t call her every evening, otherwise I spend my energy on the market, it is better to spend mental energy on the pitch.”
The 58-year-old was then asked about the Blues’ pursuit of Leandro Paredes and the fate of ex-Juve forward Alvaro Morata, who has been linked with Atletico Madrid.
“You know my opinion about Cesc replacement,” he added.
“We need one, in my opinion, Marina knows that, I am not frustrated at the moment.
“I don’t know if [Morata] will play, he is training with us of course. It is normal. It is a difficult moment, it is normal for a player in January to be involved in a market. He is available [to play].”
