“It is wonderful to be back, especially as I saw a team eager to prove what it can really do,” Santon told Inter Channel.
Now 24, Santon grew up in the Nerazzurri youth academy and was sold to Newcastle in August 2011.
“Everything has changed now, but there are still many people who were also here when I left. Inter are not going through a good moment, but I am happy to be here and want to give my contribution.
“In England I often played on the left, but also the right and even in midfield. I can play on either flank, it’s up to the Coach.
“I don’t have 90 minutes in my legs, but I am very fired up to play. I always tried to give my all for this jersey and will continue to do so.
“I have to shoot for goal more. I’ll try to improve, get back in shape and then hopefully the goal will come.”
