Sampdoria are turning towards Udinese striker Cyril Thereau after failing to agree a deal with Napoli for Duvan Zapata.
The 34-year-old would guarantee plenty of Serie A experience, as he has been in Italy since 2010 with Chievo and joined Udinese in 2014.
According to both Sky Sport Italia and Mediaset Premium, Sampdoria are in talks with Udinese to see if Thereau is available.
Last season he scored 12 goals in 33 Serie A appearances for the Friulani.
