Genoa Coach Gian Piero Gasperini says that the derby against Sampdoria will provide a 'thrill unlike any other', whilst also accusing his rivals of 'cheating'.

The Derby della Lanterna is scheduled for tomorrow evening and sees the two teams from Genoa competing for the right to challenge Lazio in fifth place.

Even so, Gasperini knows that there are more than just three points at stake.

“The derby is a game like any other, but it inevitably gives you a thrill that is unlike that of any other match,” he said in today's press conference.

“Compared to the first round we feel we have improved.“We are pleased, and we're aware of what we're doing. We want to keep going down this road.

“[Marco] Borriello worked very well this week and will be called up for the derby.

“Tomorrow we will face a very important match, which will be followed by other, equally difficult games.”

While his rival Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic opted for a diplomatic approach in his press conference, the 57-year-old decided to be a touch more polemical.

“We must be wary of Sampdoria on dead-ball situations. They have the habit of going offside to block or cause obstruction.

“If it's offside, then it’s a foul. In Europe they don't see situations like these.

“Many commentators don’t talk about it. It’s a way of cheating.”
