Sampdoria could reportedly complete the loan signing of Inter’s Andrea Ranocchia today, but a last-gasp swoop from Milan is possible.
The centre-back captained the Nerazzurri last season but has been marginalised this term and is set to depart.
The likes of Roma, Sevilla, Liverpool and Norwich City have all been linked with the Italy international this month but Samp appears to be his most likely destination.

Calciomercato.com reports that the Blucerchiati are in pole position to sign Ranocchia on loan after finding an agreement with Inter for a loan switch.
The website believes that the Nerazzurri will meet Samp’s sporting director Carlo Osti today along with the defender’s representatives in an attempt to close a deal.
However, the report also says that Milan could make a dramatic last-minute bid if the injury to defender Alex turns out to be serious.
With Rodrigo Ely already sidelined, the Rossoneri could make efforts to sign Ranocchia to reinforce their defence if they lose Alex as well.
However, Inter are believed to be intent on inserting the obligation to buy into a deal with their city rivals, something the Diavolo won’t accept and that hasn’t been asked of Samp.
