Daniele Rugani is targeting the Italy Under-21 side’s third consecutive victory against the Republic of Ireland.
The Juventus defender is expected to start in Tuesday’s European Championship qualifier, just days after a 3-0 win away to Slovenia.
“Getting six points in two games already proves we’re a good side,” noted Rugani in a Press conference.
“It’s true we are still at the beginning of the two-year era, but we’ve shown that we’re united and time will help us to get even more in tune with each other.
“We did play well against Slovenia, but despite winning 3-0, our first half was too slow and sluggish. In order to target higher objectives, we need to analyse and improve on the negative aspects.
“Ireland are a very physical side and it’s going to be a tough game, so we have to play our game and win via that determination, grit and hunger we’ve shown so far.”
The qualifier is on Tuesday at the Stadio Romeo Menti in Vicenza.
