Daniele Rugani’s agent slammed Juventus for snubbing the defender. “The whole football world expected him to play.”
With Andrea Barzagli unavailable for yesterday’s 3-0 win over Verona, Rugani was tipped to start in the three-man defence, but instead the nod went to Martin Caceres.
“Juve continue to declare how important he is, but yesterday with Barzagli out it was Caceres who played,” agent Davide Torchia told Radio Crc.

“Juve continue to declare how important he is, but yesterday with Barzagli out it was Caceres who played,” agent Davide Torchia told Radio Crc.
“This decision left me rather perplexed, seeing as the lad did so well in the Coppa Italia. In any case, I hope the club will keep its word, seeing as it claims Rugani is the first choice after that trio.
“The whole football world expected to see Daniele play yesterday.”
The Italy Under-21 international is increasingly frustrated and Napoli continue to push hard for a reunion with his ex-Empoli Coach Maurizio Sarri.
“Juve do not want to sell, so any situation becomes difficult,” continued the agent.
“There is respect between them and always will be, but obviously Napoli can’t just sit back and wait for the Rugani situation to evolve.”
Last season Rugani was the only out-field player to feature in every single Serie A game and did not receive a booking.
This term he has played a grand total of 131 minutes of football for Juve between Serie A, the Champions League and Coppa Italia.
