Giuseppe Rossi’s agent says that the Fiorentina striker is making good progress on his knee injury and hopes to see his client back by early February.

The Viola confirmed recently that the attacker was scheduled to return to Italy in a month’s time to begin the next phase of his recovery from his latest knee injury.

This has now been followed up by the 27-year-old’s representative Federico Pastorello.

“The news is positive. The staff who worked on [his knee] have found him to be in excellent condition, with the stability of his knee much improved,” Pastorello has told La Politica del Pallone.

“The recovery phase should, therefore, meet the initial estimate of five months. Things are going well, and I hope to see him back on the pitch between late January and early February.

“The national team? It’s one of his priorities, but for now, he is only thinking about returning to the pitch for Fiorentina.

“The Della Valles have been very close to him during this difficult time. He has a strong sense of responsibility and will soon be in Italy to continue his recovery.”
