The Blucerchiati earned a victory over Juventus and held Milan to a draw, but today face bottom of the table Siena with a different approach.

“Siena are alive and kicking, so they will play with the bit between their teeth,” said Coach Rossi.

“We must have more hunger than Siena, otherwise we’ll be in trouble. This is a delicate period and it’s when the season is decided. After the next three games, we’ll know what tournament Sampdoria will have.”

Maxi Lopez was in training this week, but has not been called up, joining the injured Enzo Maresca and Juan Antonio. Nenad Krsticic picked up a knock, but is in the squad for this afternoon’s game.

Siena are coached by Beppe Iachini, who was fired by Sampdoria in the summer after taking them to promotion via the play-offs.

“He will certainly want to do well, having done great work bringing Sampdoria back to Serie A and unable to finish what he started by training them in the top flight.”
