Delio Rossi wants more consistency from Fiorentina, but refuses to comment on the chaos at his old club – and tomorrow’s opponents – Lazio.

It’s still not clear who will be on the bench against the Viola on Sunday evening, as Edy Reja tended his resignation and the club hasn’t confirmed whether it will accept or bring in a replacement.

“Of course it cannot be a ‘normal’ game for me, but I can’t be thinking about Lazio’s problems. I have enough things to worry about,” smiled Rossi.

He has to readjust his attack, as Amauri misses out after picking up a thigh injury in training today.

“We’ll replace Amauri with either Adem Ljajic or Alessio Cerci. Alessio is working hard, but we’ll probably start with Ljajic.

“Ruben Olivera made a mistake going in with his elbow against Bologna, but should not be crucified for that. A three-match ban was rather harsh.

“Juan Manuel Vargas is getting back on track, but he still needs time. Stevan Jovetic is trying to be an important ingredient for this team rather than just the icing on the cake.

“We do have some ups and downs, which is a trend we have to understand and change. It may seem repetitive, but I believe the only certainty can come from work in training throughout the week.”

There are reports the Della Valle brothers could walk away from Fiorentina after another disappointing campaign, but Rossi does not see that happening.

“They proved how much they care about the club and confirmed they are close to the team.”
