The former Milan striker bought a majority stake in the La Liga outfit last year, as he embarks on a new challenge after a successful playing career.
However, despite talks for other clubs around Europe, he has insisted that Milan were never an option.
“There were proposals in Italy, England and Portugal,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “There were some very interesting opportunities but I chose Valladolid.
“I can’t tell you which ones in Italy due to confidentiality agreements, but nobody spoke to me about Milan.
“They were out of my budget. I have to say that everything I’ve done, I’ve done on my own, as many people say that it’s someone backing me, or a Chinese group.
“That isn’t the case. It’s just me with my finances. I made this investment alone.”
