UEFA have confirmed that Rome’s Stadio Olimpico will be one of 13 cities across Europe to host the 2020 European Championships.

To celebrate the tournament’s 60th anniversary, this edition will be played in 13 cities across Europe, with each successful city’s nominated ground hosting a ‘package’ of games.

These have been split into 12 standard packages, including three group matches and one knockout round – round of 16 or quarter-final, with a 13th package bidding for the semi-finals and the final.

Rome’s Stadio Olimpico is Italy’s representative and has been confirmed by UEFA today as one of the 13 successful bids and will specifically host three group games and one quarter-final, as will Munich, Baku and St Petersburg.

Meanwhile, Copenhagen, Bucharest, Amsterdam, Dublin, Bilbao, Budapest, Brussels and Glasgow will all host three group stage games and a round of 16 game.

The semi-final and final package has gone to London’s Wembley Stadium, after it was confirmed to have beaten out Munich.
