The Dutchman would join the Italian club as a free transfer, becoming the substitute on the wing for Alessandro Florenzi. The alternative would be to spend €12m and sign Mario Gaspar from Villareal.
Left-back Lucas Digne is also on loan, in this case from PSG, but the €20m buy-out clause is considered too costly. The Lupi may opt instead for Valencia youngster Jose Luis Gaya.
The Corriere dello Sport believes that Roma are also monitoring PSV Eindhoven's Jetro Williams and Zenit St Petersburg's Domenico Criscito for the left wing.
The Corriere further reports that Coach Luciano Spalletti is pressing for the club to confirm Arsenal loanee Wojciech Szczesny and Stuttgart's Rudiger.
The request for the latter has been accepted, and the club will reportedly make use of the buy-out clause for €9m.
