“We would make the same choice again,” sporting director Walter Sabatini told Sky Sport Italia.
“We are totally convinced about our Coach because we see how he works on a daily basis and because of the way that he understands football.
“He’s brought a new mentality to the squad, one that we wanted, and we have no regrets at all about Luis Enrique.
“People always blame the Coach, but he can only field the players that he has at his disposal – and I decided who stayed and which new players to sign.”
The Giallorossi are sixth in the standings, 10 points behind third-placed Lazio who they lost to 2-1 on Sunday.
