Roma are still without a Coach, as Laurent Blanc, Rudi Garcia and Roberto Mancini are all awaiting news.
There were reports this morning that Blanc would be ruled out of the running after he reached a deal to take over at Real Sociedad.
However, this afternoon the Spanish side held a Press conference in which it announced Jagoba Arrasate was their new boss instead.
It leaves the door open for Blanc, although the delay over the past few days suggests Roma are unconvinced by this choice.
There was a meeting in the Roma HQ this afternoon and director of communication Catia Augelli warned “there will be no statement made today.”
Newspapers and radio stations in Italy suggest director of sport Walter Sabatini is pushing for current Lille Coach Garcia, while the club’s American owners would prefer sacked Manchester City manager Mancini.
The strength of this rumour pushed Roma to announce via their Twitter account that they “categorically denied” Sabatini had resigned.
It has been a chaotic few days for the Giallorossi, as director general Franco Baldini parted company with the club “by mutual consent” in order to take over as director of sport at Tottenham Hotspur.
