Roma and Lazio will meet with Pope Francis four days before their Coppa Italia Final at the Olimpico.
The two teams go head-to-head for the Coppa on May 26 in perhaps the biggest Derby della Capitale there has ever been.
Considering both Roman clubs are in the Final to be played in the Italian Capital, ANSA news agency reports members of the sides will have an audience with Pope Francis I.
The meeting is planned in the Vatican for Wednesday May 22 and will include the captains, Coaches and Presidents.
It will be the second encounter the Pope has had with a football figure, as he also had a private audience with Inter captain Javier Zanetti just days before the defender snapped his Achilles tendon.
