Gervinho is undergoing his medical for Roma and the Arsenal man’s agent said “they’ve been after him for years.”
The Ivorian arrived this morning at Fiumicino Airport accompanied by his agent and two associates to complete the €8m move plus performance-related bonuses.
“I’m very happy, it’s a dream,” he said at the airport.
He was spotted wearing a baseball cap with his name written on the back. Gervinho had x-rays at the Campus Biomedico, then moved on to cardiac stress tests at the Policlinico Gemelli.
“Gervinho came to Roma strongly desired by the club, not only by Rudi Garcia,” agent Pascal Boisseau told reporters.
“The Giallorossi have been after him for years, even since Daniele Prade’s time. He scored few goals for Arsenal? The field will give the answers.”
