Italy legend Gianni Rivera says ‘I’m here if Milan need a hand’ after completing his coaching badges at the age of 76.
Rivera played more than 600 games for Milan between 1960 and 1979, winning three Scudetti, two European Cups and three Cup Winners’ Cup, and was also part of the Italy’s triumphant Euro 1968 team.
He became a politician for several left-leaning Italian parties after his retirement, before being appointed President of the FIGC’s technical sector.

Now, two months prior to his 77th birthday, Rivera [pictured, middle] claims he is ready to ‘put into practice my own idea of attacking football’.
“When I was playing, I never looked at others,” he told Leggo.
“I had my own idea of attacking football and now I’d like to put it into practice.”
Ralf Rangnick is considered the favourite to take over at Milan this summer, but he may have competition…
“I recently took my badges and I can coach a team now. In fact, I’m here if Milan need a hand.”
