John Arne Riise has reassured Roma fans he has no intention of leaving. “It's going to be exciting with the new owners.”
The defender has been linked with a move back to the Premier League, including his former club Liverpool.
“I will certainly stay at Roma for another year and, with my agent, we have decided to wait for the new owners to settle in to discuss a contract renewal,” he wrote on his official website.
“I want to thank the fans. Even if I think it was a disappointing season, now we must focus on the next.
