There are reports this evening that Maurizio Sarri has signed a new contract holding him to Lazio until June 2025.

According to Sportitalia and Gazzetta dello Sport transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, plus Calciomercato.com and others, Sarri put pen to paper today at the Formello training ground with President Claudio Lotito.

It is reported to be worth €3.5m per season net plus performance-related bonuses for the next three years at the Stadio Olimpico.

Rather than the salary, the main sticking point for Sarri was reassurances from Lotito and director Igli Tare over the transfer market.

The coach is demanding that at least most of his big names will remain, or will be adequately replaced in the summer.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will be one of the names up for consideration, along with Luis Alberto and Francesco Acerbi.

In his debut season with the Biancocelesti, Sarri took them to fifth place in Serie A and Europa League qualification for next term.
