Roma are reportedly preparing a contract worth €2.5m plus bonuses a year to keep Nicolò Zaniolo at the Olimpico.

His performances in Serie A, combined with the call up to the Italian national side, attracted interest from top clubs in Europe and Roma had started their move to protect their valuable asset.

His performances in Serie A, combined with the call up to the Italian national side, attracted interest from top clubs in Europe and Roma had started their move to protect their valuable asset.

The former Inter midfielder already renewed his first deal in August 2019, signing a five-year contract worth €1.5m a year

The Gazzetta dello Sport claims the Giallorossi are prepared to increase his salary in another new deal, that could reach €3m a year including the added bonuses.

Before his injury, Zaniolo had played 18 times in Serie A, contributing four goals and one assist. The 20-year-old has been capped five time by Italy, scoring twice after making his debut on March 23, 2019 under current CT Roberto Mancini.

Both his goals for Italy came in a thumping 9-1 win against Armenia on November 18 last year.
