Torino striker Fabio Quagliarella is expected to join Sampdoria before the transfer deadline.

The forward celebrates his 33rd birthday today and according to Sky Sport Italia is heading back to one of his former clubs.

It’s reported Samp raised their offer to €3m, which was accepted by the Granata.

He could arrive for a medical tonight or tomorrow morning and is a replacement for Eder, who was sold to Inter.

Quagliarella wore the Samp jersey in 2006-07, scoring 14 goals in 42 competitive games for the club.
