It is reported Milan are flying out to complete their swoop for Santos starlet Paulo Henrique Ganso, beating competition from Inter.

The 21-year-old trequartista has been in talks with both San Siro clubs and looks set to come to Serie A in the summer.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, the Rossoneri are stepping up their pursuit by flying director general Ariedo Braida to Brazil for advanced negotiations this week.

Ganso has an Italian passport, so would not count as one of the non-EU signings for either club.

His contract with Santos has a buy-out clause worth €54m, but the player fell out with his club this week and is expected to be signed for around half that sum.

It was also reported that one of the main reasons Ganso had been close to Inter was Coach Leonardo.

The uncertainty over the tactician's future after the 3-0 derby defeat and 5-2 Champions League loss to Schalke therefore pushed Ganso closer to Milan.
