According to Corriere dello Sport, Shakhtar will waive the €5m needed to release Fonseca as a token of their gratitude for his good work.
The 47-year-old led the Ukrainian side to three League titles, and they will not begrudge him of the opportunity presented by Roma.
However, the newspaper warns he is seeking promises from the Giallorossi with regards to building a ‘competitive’ team.
