Report: ‘Allegri struggled to communicate with the team’

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri stormed off the pitch after the 1-1 draw with Milan on Sunday and DAZN reporter Tommaso Turci revealed he tried to tell Giorgio Chiellini to change formation earlier.

The reports in Italian media claimed there could be a problem between Allegri and Federico Chiesa after the match against the Rossoneri, as the coach claimed he made the wrong substitutions during the match.

What’s behind Allegri’s words on Chiesa

As Allegri said he should have closed the game by bringing on more defensive players, rumours emerged regarding the relationship between the coach and the Italy international.

Juventus sit 18th in Serie A ahead of the next match against Spezia and are still without a win in the League since Allegri returned to the Allianz Stadium.

Turci, who was reporting from the sidelines in Turin, revealed Allegri ‘struggled to communicate’ with the players after Ante Rebic scored the equaliser for the Diavolo.

“He was quite calm in the first 75 minutes, then in the last 15, after Rebic’s goal, he was really angry,” pitch reporter Turci told DAZN.

“He wanted to switch to 4-3-3, but struggled to communicate with the team. He tried to speak to Chiellini, trying to explain to him that the team should have swapped formation as soon as possible, with ‘Kulu’ [Dejan Kulusevski] at right and Chiesa at left.

“In the end, they managed to change system, but they should have done it before and earlier.”

Juventus, who won 3-0 over Malmö FF in first round of the Champions League, are currently preparing for the trip to Liguria on Wednesday, as the Old Lady continues with an away game against Spezia.
