The paper says that twists and turns could still take place, as during the last meeting between the parties in September 2015 Higuain’s entourage weren’t happy about De Laurentiis’ opposition to lowering his release clause.
The newspaper writes that the interest of Bayern Munich and Chelsea is known and could have an impact on negotiations.
Gazzetta also writes that there will be meetings for Jose Callejon and Dries Mertens in mid-May.
The Belgian is believed to be unhappy at being on the bench so much, which should enter into discussions.
Faouzi Ghoulam will reportedly ask for a salary adjustment for his new contract, as he currently earns €1m per season.
Raul Albiol’s future is uncertain as he will be 33 years old by the time his current deal expires in 2018 and his wages of €2.5m per season are high.
