La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Renato Sanches is close to joining Roma on loan with an option to buy, while Tiago Pinto has rejected the chance to sign Arsenal’s Albert Sambi Lokonga.
According to the pink paper, Sanches is on the verge of moving to the Stadio Olimpico on an initial loan deal with an option to buy for €12-13m.
Sanches has reportedly agreed to join the Giallorossi while PSG will pay his €5.5m-a-year salary.
If the Portuguese completes his transfer, he will become Roma’s second signing in midfield this summer after Houssem Aouar who has joined the Giallorossi on a free transfer from Lyon.
Georginio Wijnaldum had also moved to Roma on loan last summer, but returned to PSG at the end of 2022-23 after struggling with injuries at the Stadio Olimpico.
Thursday’s printed edition of the pink paper (page 14) also reports that Roma have been offered the chance to sign Sambi Lokonga from Arsenal. However, Roma have decided against signing the 23-year-old midfielder, picking Sanches instead.
