“We prepared for the match well, but when 2-0 up we lacked a bit of determination to kill off the match.

“It's a shame, as the lads took the right approach, although some things need to be looked at in defence.”

It was a special game for Reja, who returned to this stadium for the first time as an opponent after five years taking Napoli from Serie C1 to the top flight.

“My sentiments for this crowd remains intact and it's very pleasing to see they feel the same way. I thank everyone, it was a game of immensely strong sensations.

“This match was for the Champions League and not everything becomes more difficult.”
