Edy Reja insists Lazio “deserved this qualification” after scraping through to the last 32 of the Europa League.

The Biancocelesti have stuttered throughout the tournament, but their 2-0 win over Sporting Lisbon and Vaslui’s 2-0 defeat against Zurich saw them qualify.

“We did struggle to qualify, especially as I have few options to rotate the squad,” said the Coach.

“There are many injury problems and I hope to have some back for the games against Udinese” data-scaytid=”26″>Udinese and Chievo.

“We gave it our all from the very start to score, so fortunately after breaking the deadlock it all became much easier.

“If we got to this stage, it’s because we deserved this qualification. Our performances have been good throughout the competition, even when they weren’t supported by the results.”

Now Reja looks ahead to the January transfer window for potential reinforcements.

“If there are a few moves to be made, then I think President Claudio Lotito would be ready. We are monitoring the transfer market, including young players.”

Lazio are through to the last 32 of the Europa League, but giants like Paris Saint-Germain and Dynamo Kiev have crashed out at the group stage.
