Alejandro Gomez and German Denis were on target at the Stadio Olimpico for their first win here in over 12 years.
“In the first half we closed up well and attacked Roma’s creative centres,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“When the lads put our mechanisms into action like this, we can trouble anyone. We did the same in our draw at Milan, when we deserved victory.
“Maxi Moralez played very well today and it’s a shame he didn’t get to crown that performance with a goal when he had that fantastic chance.
“More than full-backs, we use wingers who cut in and have to be covered. We often found ourselves challenging the Roma centre-backs.”
As a former Lazio Coach, does Reja recognise the intensive pressure around Roma right now?
“I only know that it’s not easy to emerge from a situation like this. They did not look to be in great shape physically.
“Clearly, protests from the fans are not going to help them psychologically. Roma really struggled after we took the lead and couldn’t react.”
