Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina has spoken about the impact of the sale of top scorer Gonzalo Higuain, taking a swipe at his ex-teammate in the process.
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Spaniard urged those at the club to 'turn the page' following the summer departure of the man who plundered 36 league goals last term, before joining rivals Juventus.
"The departure of Higuain? His sale has allowed us to take different players who have improved a team was already very good last year.

"Although we have improved, it is clear that what happened with [Arkadiusz] Milik changes things.
"The loss of Pipita was an inevitable sacrifice. If someone comes and pays the clause, the club can do very little.
"Higuain made requests that were rejected and that was how it went.
"Now we must turn the page and look ahead with confidence in people that were already here and those who arrived, with or without Milik."
When asked about ex-Juve striker Alvaro Morata's recent interview in which he stated that he turned down Napoli, Reina's scathing reply cast doubt over the character of his former team-mate.
"There is no doubt that this is respectable and honorable. The fact that Pipita went shows that he does not think like Morata."
